Use WakeAtlas with AI tools

AI agents can search public vessel records, inspect recent positions, find ports and read saved wreck research through structured responses. The interactive website remains available alongside this read-only interface.

Connect through MCP

Remote MCP endpoint: https://wakeatlas.uk/api/mcp/. Use Streamable HTTP with no authentication for public read-only research. Available tools search vessels, read vessel observations, search ports and wrecks, read full port facilities and nearby AIS activity, retrieve vessel tracks and saved wreck research, filter ocean feeds by measurement and location search historic ships, read quality-filtered Argo profiles and collection refresh status, and provide this operating guide. This connection does not control another browser tab or access accounts.

Connect an agent

Give an API-capable agent the discovery document or import the OpenAPI specification into a compatible tool. This does not automatically connect every chat service; its tools must support web or HTTP access.

Executable globe tools

WebMCP-capable browsers expose centre_globe, zoom_globe, reset_globe, set_globe_layer, locate_globe_vessel and get_globe_state. These execute map actions without clicking buttons. They act only on the connected browser tab.

Agents that can open links can also open a globe centred at specific coordinates. Use map_lat, map_lon and map_altitude (metres) in the globe URL. Fetching that URL as plain text cannot move someone else’s browser.

Operate the globe

Browser agents can open Precise map controls on the globe, fill the labelled latitude, longitude and altitude fields, then press Centre map. Enter a nine-digit MMSI to show a vessel. Independent checkboxes control layers; existing Zoom in, Zoom out, North up and Reset view buttons remain available. The panel reports camera coordinates after movement. These controls work with the keyboard too; API requests alone do not move an open browser.

Use results accurately

Match vessels by their identifiers, not names alone. Retain observation dates, provider names and units. Map responses may contain clusters or limited results; they are not a complete global fleet count. No recent reports does not establish an empty sea. Saved historical research and image candidates are not confirmed identities unless explicitly reviewed.

Use small geographic areas and bounded searches, reuse results and back off when requests are limited or unavailable. This interface does not expose account changes or trigger new paid or external research searches.
