Historic ships and museum visits
Read original short histories and timelines, view credited historic photographs and follow official visitor links where available.
Shipwreck heritage catalogue
Explore sourced wreck records and selected historical images. Recorded positions may be approximate and are not dive or navigation instructions.
Offshore platforms
Browse dated platform and floating-facility registry records. Historical satellite detections on the globe are a separate research layer, not current operating status.

Current ocean research feeds
Explore dated ocean heat samples, northern seas forecasts, US measurements and England coastal levels and flood alerts.
Buoy observatory

View a limited selection of measured coastal water levels with station-specific reference datums. Coverage is a pilot, not a global tide prediction service.

Reading the map layers
Seamounts show screened predicted summit locations in a North Atlantic subset. Satellite structures show historical offshore detections. Conservation markers represent source-listed UK sites, not legal boundaries. Forecast wind and clouds show modelled conditions at the displayed forecast time.
Measurements, forecasts, registry snapshots and historical records describe different things. Each should be interpreted with its source, date, units and stated limitations. WakeAtlas is not a navigation service.
